Internship Vacancy

The internship in UNEP DTIE is a challenging but exciting experience. In our office in Paris, you will work in a multicultural environment. You will have the chance to get a global view on the following topics: industrial accidents, emergency preparedness systems, natural disasters and risk communication. All our activities are aiming at changing unsustainable patterns of consumption and production.

We expect you to work in our office in Paris, full time (9-18hs) and stay from a mininmum of three to a maximum of six months. Internships at UNEP are not paid (financed by the candidates themselves) and no financial support nor medical insurance is provided. Working languages are English and/or French, but any other UN language is an asset.

Candidates are normally current 3rd and 4th year undergraduate or (MA)/post-graduate (PhD) students or their equivalent at the time of application and for the duration of the internship period.

It is mandatory for the interns to arrange for Health/Accident Insurance Policy covering the period of the Internship or sign a waiver indicating that he/she will bear all costs arising from accident and/or illness incurred during the Internship. The intern has to be medically cleared by a qualified examining physician, before he/she takes up his/her Internship assignment.

We are looking for candidates who are motivated to work hard, who have strong technical background, and who could start as soon as possible. In addition, we would appreciate it if you could draft a motivation letter (please do some research on the APELL website before writing the motivation letter).
