The main objective of the second meeting was to agree on and develop an operational programme for the implementation of the Task Force's Programme of Work. The meeting was organized by the French Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development in close cooperation with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Ministry of Tourism, as well as the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The meeting was hosted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris and chaired by Mr. Christian Brodhag, the French inter-ministerial Delegate of the Marrakech Task Force on Sustainable Tourism.

The second meeting of the International Task Force on Sustainable Tourism focused on the following themes:

• Review of the work that has been done on good practices,
  
  
• Identification of projects and activities that have been initiated or will be initiated under the Task Force,
  
  
• Debate on political issues, concepts and elements of rational

Discussion in the working groups provided an operational dimension to the programme of work outlined in the first meeting of the Task Force, covering the development of policy tools, collection and dissemination of good practices, education and capacity building activities, strategies and networking for sustainable tourism, and information and communication.
